INTRODUCTION TO BASIC DIGITAL DESIGN
Participants will be introduced to the world of Digital Design, including what goes into producing effective and Dynamic images using Adobe Photoshop.
INTRODUCTION TO COMPUTER APPLICATIONS FOR MEDIA
This entirely ‘hands-on’ course includes specially prepared exercises that give participants practical experience of using Microsoft Word, Excel and Publisher. It will teach how to create, merge and publish documents or brochures and flyers and professional reports. Students will also learn how to create a spreadsheet incorporating basic formulae and functions using MS Excel 2002 (XP).
BASIC WEB PAGE DESIGN
This introductory course will teach participants the basics of web page design features, using Dreamweaver. On completion participants will be able to create and publish a website with pages incorporating formatted text, graphics, etc.
POWERPOINT PRESENTATION SKILLS
This course will teach participants to master the skills and features of Microsoft PowerPoint 2002. Participants will learn how to customize PowerPoint, insert special effects and how to use reviewing and network broadcasting features.
DIGITAL GRAPHICS & ANIMATION
A hands-on approach with the tools used to create Digital Graphics & Animation including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe After Effects and Blender 3D.
WEBSITE DEVELOPMENT & INTERACTIVE MEDIA PRODUCTION
Students will understand advanced principles of website design, interactive design and animation design and how to express those principles using Macromedia Flash MX.
DIGITAL VIDEO & NON-LINEAR EDITING
This module introduces the participants to the principles of working with video in a digital post production environment. It provides the building blocks for participants to better understand digital video management as well as to fully grasp the processes and techniques of non-linear editing.
RUDIMENTS OF STILL CAMERA PHOTOGRAPHY
This course introduces the beginner to the art of still photography. Students learn how shoot, process and print their own photographs.
TECHNIQUES OF VIDEO PRODUCTION
This course gives hands-on training in the use of video cameras, microphone, lights and video-tape editing machines.
VOICE & SPEECH : LEVEL 1
Sessions are conducted in the effective use of the organs of speech in the making of vowels and consonants. It also offers guidance in breathing, posture and deportment for effective speech. The aim is to achieve clarity, expressiveness, pleasantness of utterance and native flow.
VOICE & SPEECH : LEVEL 2
Developing on Level 1, this course offers further training in professional presentation and delivery. It will take participants to an even higher level of performance.
ART OF PUBLIC SPEAKING FOR EXECUTIVES
This Public Speaking course helps to develop confidence and capacity in delivering public addresses. It also examines the target, purpose, structure and strategies of the public speech. Principles are illustrated by prepared outlines and references. Speeches are performed weekly.
