NB: Pass of 50% or more in each component of a course to qualify for the Diploma It is pointed out that the grade scheme is benchmarked against the scheme used in other tertiary institutions in Jamaica and the Caribbean. It is noted that the pass mark at MTI is 50 %, being traditionally higher than that at some other local institutions as expertise and professional competences demand a higher performance consistency and level than say 40% would reflect.
Students enrolled in the Professional development courses must pass all sections of their courses to receive a certificate.
