DIPLOMA REGULATIONS for VIDEO PRODUCTION

DIPLOMA/NVQ LEVEL 3

This is a full-time evening programme that is open to media workers, independent producers and aspiring producers. It is accessed on a modular basis and incorporates select courses from the general course offerings as well as from the Digital Design Programme.

GENERAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • A minimum of  four (4) CXC/GCE subjects at grades 1,2 or 3 since 1998 or equivalent including English Language and Mathematics or a numeric subject.

  • Good oral and written communication skills.

CATEGORIES OF COURSES

  • Each course is designated as appropriate to Year 1 or 2

  • Courses have a normal weighting of three (3) credits

  • Where a course is given a 1.5 credit weighting the student is required to move on to the second 1.5 credit rated course within the semester. 

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE AWARD OF THE DIPLOMA

In order to qualify for a diploma a student must satisfy the following requirements:

Have completed a minimum of 60 credits of which

  • 30 shall be for core requirements (6 credits at each semester)

  • 9 shall be electives

  • 15 shall be for general education requirements.
